Caldwell, John

John Caldwell was commissioned into the Army in 1774, gaining the rank of lieutenant in 1777 and was ADC to the Viceroy of India in 1782. He inherited the baronetcy in 1784, and the Countship of Milan, of the Holy Roman Empire, in the same year. He was, in succession, Governor of County Fermanagh (1793) Lieutenant Colonel of the Fermanagh Militia (1794) and Sheriff of County Fermanagh (1798).
