Camplin, Thomas

Thomas was the son of Thomas Camplin, of Taunton. He gained an BA at Queen’s College, Oxford, an MA at Christ Church College, Oxford, and an LLD (university not known). He became a deacon in 1738 and was ordained in 1740. He was appointed Chaplain of Christ College, Oxford in 1738, and was rector of St Ebbe, Oxford (1742) and of Brampton Ralph (1752). In 1761 he became Archdeacon of Bath and was Prebendary of Combe (1762), of Buckland Dinham (1763) and of Litton (1766) before being made Archdeacon of Taunton in 1767. His final appointment was that of Vicar at Chard (1768).
