Kearney, Margaret

Margaret was born as the daughter of Clayton Bayley. Margaret’s husband James was a Major in the 12th Dragoons in 1802, and then in the 2nd Dragoon Guards in 1805. In 1809 he served in Walcheren. He was a Brevet (acting) Lt Col in 1810 and attained that rank in 1814. From 1814 to 1830 he was in command of 2nd Dragoon Guards. He was a brevet Colonel in 1819. Margaret and James had three daughters Mary, Susanna and Catharine, all of which as commemorated on the same memorial as their mother.
