Pelling, John

John was educated at Magdelen College, Oxford, where he took a degree in arts, but then took a second degree, a Bachelor of Divinity, in 1597; he was Rector of Bath Abbey from 1608 to his death in 1620. He was a great contributor to the work of the re-construction of the Abbey, being an able assistant to Bishop James Montagu in the furtherance of this work, and tireless in obtaining contributions from many benefactors.
