Pyper, Granville

Granville, of Madford, near Launceston, Cornwall was the youngest son of Philip Pyper and grand-son of Hugh Pyper. Hugh Pyper, later knighted, was Lt Governor of Plymouth and served in the Civil War as a captain at the Battles of Stratton and Lansdown, where he was wounded both in the neck and the thigh, and was also shot in the shoulder. He died in Launceston in1687 at the age of 76
