Saunders, Erasmus

Erasmus Saunders was educated at Merton College, Oxford, and graduated with a BA in 1737, an MA in 1740, a BD in 1751 and a DD in 1753. He was appointed vicar of Wantage , Berkshire, in 1755 and a year later Prebendary of Rochester Cathedral. At the same time, he was vicar of St Martin in the Fields. In 1757 he was vicar of Mapiscome, Kent. He was also (from 1751 to 1756) appointed to the tenth stall in St George’s Chapel, Windsor.
